Stream-me

Stream-me

Stream-me is a potentially unwanted program (PUP) targeted at Google Chrome users. The descriptions on the extension's official site might suggest that the tool allows streaming TV content, but, in reality, it works as a search engine. Therefore, users may have to find sites that stream their favorite shows themselves. However, while surfing the Internet with the PUP’s search tool, it could gather information like your visited websites or clicked ads to show you advertisements from various third-parties. We do not claim it would necessarily happen if you use the extension's search engine, but there seems to be such a possibility. Thus, if you do not want to risk seeing third-party ads, we advise choosing a more reputable search engine. Provided, you decide to erase Stream-me, we can offer our removal instructions available below the article. Read more »

RegProtech

RegProtech is a potentially unwanted program or a PUP in short. In this case, the tool could seem annoying because it might ask users to pay to remove results identified during a free scan. Besides, the software may not even work anymore as it could not launch during our tests. We suspect it might have to do with the fact that the server RegProtech used to connect to, is currently unreachable. If your version no longer launches or you simply do not want to keep a PUP on your computer, we invite you to check the deletion instructions available at the end of this article. The comments section below the instructions is where you can place your questions about the application or its removal. Read more »

CIP QxSearch

CIP QxSearch

CIP QxSearch is not an extension you should keep installed on your Google Chrome web browser. This extension might appear to be harmless and maybe even beneficial, but our research team at Anti-Spyware-101.com finds only negatives. According to the official information that was available on the Chrome web store (chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cip/ffpmjgjkflkhffekbjbmiaidgmafogec) until the installer was taken down, the extension can encrypt searches to ensure a more private experience. Well, this is a completely useless service because you already have Chrome’s Incognito mode that offers a similar thing. Also, Incognito mode is more reliable and transparent, whereas it is known that the suspicious extension has other agenda. We discuss that further in the report, but we can reveal straight away that the extension is classified as a potentially unwanted program (PUP) and that its removal is recommended. If you are still not sure about deleting CIP QxSearch, continue reading. Afterward, use the comments section at the bottom of the page if you want to continue the discussion. Read more »
