SmartStreamSearch is not so smart. In fact, it is pretty dumb, considering how useless it is. Does it offer streaming? It does not. Does it offer a streaming-related search? It does not. Does it offer any kind of search service? That is debatable, but our team at Anti-Spyware-101.com has found that the extension redirects to a third-party search engine rather than produce its own search results, and that means that it does not actually offer a search service. In fact, this extension does not offer anything, and that is one reason why it is known as a PUP – potentially unwanted program. Another reason is that this extension performs certain actions silently, and these actions are questionable. For one, the PUP can collect PII (personally identifiable information). Also, it can share that PII with undisclosed parties. Are you ready to delete SmartStreamSearch? We are sure that you are.

How does SmartStreamSearch work?

What does SmartStreamSearch have to do with OnlineSportsSearch or NetGameSearch? In fact, we could name tons of other extensions here as well, and all of them are clones of one another. It is hard to say which is the first PUP that all others were designed after, but it is clear that all of them are useless. Some internet users might find the matching “portal” pages (for example, portal.smartstreamsearch.com) useful because they offer a free converter, but they are not introduced by the PUPs themselves, and the connection between the pages and the extensions is still under review. So, where does the extension come from? Unsurprisingly, it is promoted via the Chrome Web Store, just like its clones, and so you might have downloaded it from chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/smartstreamsearch/eplgeocjolljcekonmlblfdoeakklejl. Otherwise, you could have been redirected to a dedicated download page on get.smartstreamsearch.com, or the installer of the PUP could have been introduced via a third-party downloader. In any case, we suggest removing the PUP for the same reasons.

Was your default search provider on Google Chrome switched to feed.smartstreamsearch.com/?q=? It must have been if you downloaded SmartStreamSearch. So, what is wrong with this “search” tool? Well, it does not search. Instead, it redirects to Yahoo Search, but you are not introduced to a service you might have expected. While search.yahoo.com can produce useful search results, when the PUP is involved, these results are modified, and they can promote the links to all kinds of third-party websites. We cannot know whether or not you would be exposed to links that route to malware sites, but only because we know nothing about the parties that might be using the services of SmartStreamSearch. Who are they? What are their intentions? Could they attempt to scam you or expose you to malware? Pretty much the only thing we know about the third parties is that they can use their own data tracking tools and that they can access the PII collected by the PUP.

How to delete SmartStreamSearch

Do we recommend removing SmartStreamSearch? We sure do, and the reasons for that are thoroughly explained above. The only thing left to figure out is how you are going to eliminate this potentially unwanted program. While you can ask help from more experienced friends or even hire a specialist, the PUP is not the kind of threat that you wouldn’t be able to handle yourself. Of course, if other threats exist on your system (whether they existed already or were downloaded along with the PUP), it might be easiest to employ an anti-malware program. One that would automatically delete SmartStreamSearch and everything else malicious. We also recommend this option to those who need their systems protected. That, pretty much, is everyone. Alternatively, if you know that the PUP is the only active threat, and if you are ready to deal with it on your own, follow the instructions below.

Removal Instructions

Launch Google Chrome.

Enter chrome://extensions into the address bar to open the Extensions menu.

Click the Remove button pinned to the unwanted extension.

Enter chrome://settings/clearBrowserData into the address bar to open the Clear browsing data menu.

Move to the Advanced menu.

Select the right time range and the chosen boxes and click Clear data.

If you leave your Windows system unprotected, Omfl Ransomware is one of the many threats that could invade it. The cybercriminals behind this malware do not even need to put too much effort into executing this malware. They usually send spam emails containing malicious links and attachments to random people, and if they are tricked into clicking on these links and attachments, malware can be executed without anyone’s notice. Obviously, security software should identify and remove malware before it is executed, but there are still plenty of unprotected systems for cybercriminals to exploit. Unfortunately, there are also tons of other threats that can do the same. So, do you need to delete Omfl Ransomware? If you do, we can show how to do it quickly and completely. If you are trying to protect your system against this malware, we can show you how to do that as well.

How does Omfl Ransomware work?

Omfl Ransomware is basically identical to Qlkm Ransomware, Jdyi Ransomware, Vvoa Ransomware, Vpsh Ransomware, and other known threats that were created using the STOP Ransomware code. All of these threats deliver the same message using the same file (_readme.txt), but that is not how we know that they are controlled by the same party. The message always includes contact email addresses, and while they used to be more unique in the past, in the more recent times, the same two email addresses are presented every time: helpmanager@mail.ch and restoremanager@airmail.cc. Should you contact the attackers? Whether you are ready to follow their demands or you just want to cuss them out, emailing cybercriminals is NEVER a good idea. Although the ransom message represented via the _readme.txt file suggests that you can purchase a decryptor for $490, the reality is that Omfl Ransomware was created to extort money, and the attackers behind it do not care about what ends up happening with your files.

So, if you cannot trust cybercriminals to provide you with a decryptor, what are you supposed to do with the files that were encrypted and now have the “.omfl” extension appended to their names? You cannot decrypt these files yourself, but a tool named “STOP Decryptor” might help. As you can see, it was created for the victims of STOP Ransomware, not any particular variant, which is why we cannot know if you will be able to use it for complete decryption. Nonetheless, it is free, and so it is worth looking into it. Of course, in the most ideal situation, you can remove Omfl Ransomware and then restore your files using backup copies. Basically, that would be replacing the encrypted files. It is always a good idea to keep copies of important personal files somewhere safe just in case your device crashes irreparably, gets stolen, or malware attacks. Note that there are infections that can wipe files completely, and Omfl Ransomware is definitely not the only kind of malware that you need to worry about.

How to delete Omfl Ransomware

Whether or not you are able to replace the corrupted files, you must remove Omfl Ransomware, and we suggest thinking about the removal of this threat along with the protection of your system. Can you delete malware and also secure your system all by yourself? Unfortunately, that is unlikely to be the case because malware can be very complex – even though that is not the case with Omfl Ransomware – and attackers can find new ways to invade your system. We believe this is the time for you to install legitimate anti-malware software because it can simultaneously erase malware and protect your system against it. Of course, even if you think that your system is fully protected, you need to be cautious yourself, and you also should not forget to store copies of your personal files on external or online drives. This will ensure that you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the security of your files.

Removal Guide

Tap Windows and E keys at the same time to access File Explorer.

Enter %HOMEDDRIVE% into the bar at the top to access the directory.

Right-click the file named _readme.txt and click Delete.

Right-click the folder named SystemID and click Delete.

Enter %LOCALAPPDATA% into the bar at the top.

Right-click the {random name} folder that contains malware files and click Delete.

Once you Empty Recycle Bin, immediately install a trustworthy malware scanner.

Perform a full system scan and delete leftovers if they are found.

You would think that OnlineSportsSearch is somehow capable of providing searches specifically for sport-related search queries, but that is not the case. This extension is a PUP – potentially unwanted program – and its main tasks involve hijacking the default search provider, redirecting to Yahoo Search, injecting sponsored links/ads, and also recording information about users and their interactions. Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers recommend removing OnlineSportsSearch from Google Chrome, and you might have already figured out that you want to do exactly that. However, if you would like to learn more about the suspicious extension and the different methods that can be employed to delete it, we suggest that you read this report. If questions remain unanswered for you, add them to the comments section.

How does OnlineSportsSearch work?

Before OnlineSportsSearch can start “working” on your browser, it has to be installed. Officially, this PUP is introduced via the Chrome Web Store, and if you have downloaded it from chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/onlinesportssearch/anklmomahpndggnpbfknmingcnfkijnk, the chances are that you were not introduced to any additional installers. On the other hand, if you used a bundled downloader, it is likely that additional pieces of software were introduced along with it. If that is the case, or if you do not know where the PUP came from, installing and running a trusted malware scanner is a must. Implement this tool to help you examine the system for additional threats that you might have to remove. We advise doing the same if you have downloaded NetGameSearch, GetSearchConverter, GameSearchMedia, or any other clone of the PUP. All of these extension function in the same ways, and we recommend deleting them for the same reasons, the first one being that they are completely useless. Even if they were not suspicious also, you would want to delete them just for that.

At first, OnlineSportsSearch might not seem completely useless. It sets feed.onlinesportssearch.com as the default search provider, and this tool is set up to redirect to search.yahoo.com. Whether you use this search tool on a daily basis or you only know it by its reputation, you might think that the service promised by the PUP is legitimate. After all, it claims to optimize search results provided via Yahoo Search. But what does that mean? You might have thought that somehow superior search results would be shown, but in reality, all this PUP can do is inject links from third-party partners. Who are they and what are their intentions? We cannot know for sure, and because of that, trusting the injected links is not recommended. We also do not recommend trusting the PUP because it can collect information about you. Even personal information is not off limits, and because the PUP’s developer can share it with undisclosed parties, you need to think very carefully if you feel safe with this extension installed.

How to remove OnlineSportsSearch

There are far better tools that offer far better services than OnlineSportsSearch, and that is the first reason we suggest deleting this extension from your Google Chrome browser. Other than that, we suggest getting rid of this PUP because it hijacks, redirects, collects and shares personal data, and serves unknown parties instead of you. So, how can you delete OnlineSportsSearch? You can do it manually, and we have created a manual removal guide below to help you with that. If this is the path you are choosing, make sure you perform every step. Afterward, scan your system to see what other threats you might still have to erase. If you want to make things easier for yourself, and you also are looking to secure your system, we suggest using anti-malware software because it can erase threats automatically and also secure the system.

Removal Instructions

Do not waste your time with extensions like NetGameSearch because they cannot offer you anything that you want or need. Did you install this potentially unwanted program (PUP) on a whim? If that is the case, you probably have no reservations about removing it from your Google Chrome browser. However, if you thought about installing it, and you are still convinced that it can be useful, we suggest that you read this report. Our experienced Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers have thoroughly inspected the PUP, and we can explain why its elimination is recommended. Are you looking for instructions that will help you delete NetGameSearch right away? These are provided below, but note that there are other methods of PUP removal that we should discuss. If you do not find the information you are after in this report, we can answer your questions personally. Add them to the comments section below.

How does NetGameSearch work?

We are very curious as to how you downloaded NetGameSearch. Considering that this extension does not seem to offer highly useful services, we doubt that many Chrome users will seek it out specifically. Most likely, you were introduced to it via some advertisement. Perhaps, the installer of the PUP showed up on your screen after you clicked a pop-up or visited a website that is capable of redirecting to third-party sites. On a side note, you should probably stop visiting such websites. Perhaps you downloaded the PUP from chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/netgamesearch/hjannonjgjdmbccbolbgoohidalenclg or even install.netgamesearch.com/?pid=58132&subid=809779&clickid=29152060588992377&did=5ebac7f0-337f-44e9-8ab5-1bc970021381&pgs=1? Whatever the case is, the extension is bound to act the same. Right away, it should replace the default search provider with feed.netgamesearch.com, and that should ensure that all searches conducted via the address bar redirect you to Yahoo Search (search.yahoo.com).

You might think that NetGameSearch is harmless, but it is not, and the fact that it has numerous clones (including GetSearchConverter, GameSearchMedia, or IncognitoSearchPro) proves it further. Did you realize that your default search provider would be hijacked? Did you know that your searches would be redirected that that the results shown via Yahoo Search would be modified to promote third-party links? Did you know that the PUP would record your browsing history and some personally identifiable information? Did you know that it would share it with parties that are kept anonymous? If you knew all of these things, we are sure that you would not have downloaded NetGameSearch, and that is why doing research before installing new apps and extensions is crucial. Obviously, you must now understand why we recommend removing this potentially unwanted program from Google Chrome. Once you get rid of it, we suggest being more cautious about new installers. Even if they are free, you should not install them carelessly because that could always cause problems.

How to delete NetGameSearch

You might be completely inexperienced with PUPs and their removal, but even if that is the case, removing NetGameSearch yourself should not be difficult at all. This potentially unwanted program can be found in the ‘Extensions’ menu within your browser, and you can delete it there. Additionally, we suggest accessing the ‘Clear browsing data’ menu and erasing data that was accumulated during the use of the PUP. All you need to do is pick the right time range. What comes next? We strongly advise securing the system with trusted anti-malware software because you need trustworthy protection against PUPs and other kinds of threats that could try to attack you. Note that this software can automatically delete active threats too, and so if you want to, you can employ it to have the PUP deleted as well. Most importantly, do not install extensions, programs, and files on a whim in the future. Do your research and pay attention.

Igdm Ransomware is a malicious computer infection although you probably do not need this introduction if you’re reading this entry, right? You’re looking for ways to terminate this program, and you found the right page. The manual removal instructions are right at the bottom of the page, although we would strongly recommend acquiring a reliable antispyware tool that would delete Igdm Ransomware and all the other malicious files from your computer at the same time. You just need to make sure that similar programs do not enter your system again.

Where does Igdm Ransomware come from?

To avoid such programs, you need to know how they spread around. Since Igdm Ransomware is part of the STOP Ransowmare family, we can tell for sure that this program employs spam email campaigns to reach its victims. Although spam email campaign success rate is relatively low, the sheer amount of spam emails sent guarantees that ransomware campaigns are successful even if just a few users open the malicious attachments.

How can you tell that you’ve received a malicious attachment? For one, the message will probably be from someone you don’t know, and it will be urgent. For instance, it might look like some shipping invoice you supposedly need to check at once. Maybe it looks like a financial report from a company you’ve never heard before.

Worse, it could also be socially engineered to look like a message from your colleague or something like that. Even then, you should check the wording and see whether it’s something you would get from your co-worker on a regular basis. And finally, you can always scan the received files with the security tool that you use. Just to be on the safe side. If you employ all those safety measures, you should be able to avoid things like Igdm Ransomware in the future.

What does Igdm Ransomware do?

Perhaps the main problem with ransomware infections that removing them doesn’t automatically solve the issues they have caused. So, you can probably tell that Igdm Ransomware encrypts personal files and holds them hostage, just like multiple ransomware infections before it. It doesn’t take long before the files on the victim’s computer change their icons, and you get blank pages on every single file icon out there. It just means that the system cannot read those files anymore. To make it official, Igdm Ransomware also adds an extension to the affected files. The extension is IGDM and that’s where the program gets its name from.

Aside from encrypting your files, this program also displays a ransom note. The ransom note is dropped in the TXT format files in the C:\ directory, and you need to open it yourself. The message in the note is similar to all the other notes that come with the STOP Ransomware family infections:

ATTENTION!

Don’t worry, you can return all your files!
All your files like pictures, databases, documents and other important are encrypted with strongest encryption and unique key.
The only method of recovering files is to purchase decrypt tool and unique key for you.
<…>
Price of private key and decrypt software is $980.
Discount 50% available if you contact us first 72 hours, that’s price for you is $490.

The note is there to push users into paying the ransom, but you should know better than to succumb to these demands. There’s no guarantee that the criminals would issue the decryption key in the first place, and there’s actually a public decryption tool available. Simply look for the STOP Ransomware decryption tool, and you’ll find it.

How do I remove Igdm Ransomware?

Manual removal isn’t that complicated. You just need to locate all the files associated with the program and remove them through and through. You can use the guidelines below, but if you don’t want to check and double-check everything yourself, simply use an antispyware tool of your choice to remove Igdm Ransomware, and then protect your system.

Aside from that, you should also consider creating a file backup to prevent serious losses in the case of a consequent ransomware infection. Also, review your browsing habits because some of the things you do online could also lead to a number of computer security issues.

Do you have GetSearchConverter installed on your Google Chrome browser? If you do, we have some information for you about this potentially unwanted program (PUP) and why we recommend deleting it as soon as possible. If you do not have this extension installed, but you have encountered its installer, and you are curious to learn if it can offer you something useful, let us warn you that it has nothing to offer. Yes, it sounds like a tool for better web searches, but that is just a disguise that hides highly suspicious activities. Our team of experts at Anti-Spyware-101.com strongly recommends removing GetSearchConverter if it is installed and refusing it if it is offered for installation. We go deeper into these topics in this report, but if you feel like you know enough already, and you want to get to the removal part, check out the last section.

How does GetSearchConverter work?

GetSearchConverter is an extension identical to GameSearchMedia, IncognitoSearchPro, TopSportsSearch, BestConverterSearch, and a ton of others. Whether they belong to the same party or multiple different parties using the same platform, we can assure you that not a single of these extensions can offer you beneficial services. According to our researchers, you might have downloaded the PUP from the Chrome Web Store chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/getsearchconverter/jfpaaailcogmdhdpblnkdhjgnhlkkmnk, but you also could have discovered it at getsearchconverter.com or via a suspicious bundled downloader. In any case, the extension must have been introduced to you as a tool that optimizes searches powered by Yahoo. So, what does that mean? Basically, the PUP shows you search results via search.yahoo.com, but these results are slightly different because they are “optimized.” Isn’t that great? Not exactly. It was found that the PUP injects sponsored third-party links instead of actually beneficial search-related results.

If you downloaded GetSearchConverter from the Chrome Web Store, you might have noticed that this PUP is advertised as “a single purpose extension,” and that tells you everything you need to know – this extension is useless. When it sets feed.getsearchconverter.com/?q= as the default search provider, it redirects all of your searches to Yahoo Search, and modified results are then shown to you. It is likely that the party behind the PUP earns money by advertising third-party links that way. However, that is not all that it is capable of. According to our team, the extension also uses data-tracking tools (e.g., cookies) that can collect all kinds of information about you, ranging from general browsing history to personally identifiable information. Is this data kept in a safe manner? Given that it can be shared with the mysterious third-party partners, it is possible that it is not protected appropriately. In general, why would you trust a tool that offers nothing useful? Such tools should be deleted instead of trusted.

How to remove GetSearchConverter

Deleting unwanted extensions is not a complicated task, and you can delete GetSearchConverter using the instructions available below too. Once you are done with the PUP, take a minute to clear browsing data too. You can do that to delete cookies, cache, browsing data, and other information linked to the potentially unwanted program. Afterward, we also recommend scanning your operating system. Even if you think that no additional threats were downloaded with the PUP or at some other time, it will not hurt you or take much time to inspect the system. Of course, if the scanner detects threats, you want them removed as soon as possible. If you realize that you cannot clean the system and also protect it yourself, we encourage you to employ anti-malware software. First, it will automatically delete all threats. Second, it will take care of your system so that you would not have to do it yourself.

Did you think that your Windows operating system was secure prior to the invasion of Mifr Ransomware? If you did, you must have changed your mind because if a system is protected appropriately, malware shouldn’t be able to slither in. Unfortunately, this ransomware is not one of the threats that you can remove and escape all consequences. It encrypts all personal files, and that does not change once you delete Mifr Ransomware. Of course, that should not deter you from eliminating this dangerous malware, and if you have no idea as to how to even approach the task, we strongly advise that you keep reading this report. Our Anti-Spyware-101.com research team has recently analyzed the threat thoroughly, and we know what the best way to get rid of it is. As always, we have the comments section opened, and you can add your questions for our team to address.

How does Mifr Ransomware work?

There are thousands of file-encrypting infections in the wild, but not one of them is as similar to the malicious Mifr Ransomware as Konx Ransomware. Quite possibly, they were created by the same attacker. These threats are expected to spread via spam emails, unreliable downloaders, social engineering scams, and RDP vulnerabilities. Therefore, if you want to keep them away, you have to be careful about how you go about your business the moment you have your computer turned on. Unfortunately, Mifr Ransomware attacks those who are most vulnerable, i.e., systems with poor or non-existent protection. Can you admit that your system lacks trustworthy protection? If you can, please do not forget to figure this issue out as well. Of course, at this point, you might be most worried about your personal files, and they should have the “.[Hiden_pro@aol.com][{unique ID number}].mifr” extension pinned to their names. Unfortunately, the encrypted files cannot be read normally, and when we analyzed this infection, there was no legitimate decryptor that could restore the files encrypted by it.

When Mifr Ransomware encrypts files, it also drops the “!INFO.HTA” file. The message inside informs that your files were encrypted and that you should purchase a decryptor if you want to have the files restored. There is no information about the price or the payment method, but this information is withheld on purpose. The attackers desire you to contact them via Hiden_pro@aol.com or Hiden_pro@tutanota.com, and if you complied with this demand, they could terrorize you for days and months to come. Even if you pay for a decryptor – which you are unlikely to obtain anyway – intimidating and scary messages demanding more money or other actions from you could continue to come. Whatever you do, do not succumb to the demands of cybercriminals because they have one goal only – to get your money.

How to delete Mifr Ransomware

You have very little to worry about if you have copies of the files corrupted by Mifr Ransomware. The existence of this kind of malware is exactly why backing up files and storing copies in secure locations is crucial. If you have copies, you can easily replace the encrypted files after removing Mifr Ransomware. If this is not an option for you, please be more mindful about the security of your personal files in the future. You also need to be more mindful about the security of your Windows operating system. If you employ legitimate anti-malware software, your system’s security will be taken care of automatically, and you will not need to worry about ransomware and other types of malware invading the system again. The best part is that this software can also automatically delete existing threats. If you are thinking about taking on the task yourself, please make sure that you identify and remove the right files.

Removal Guide

Locate the ransom note file named !INFO.HTA and Delete it.

Locate the {unique name}.exe file that launched the infection and Delete it.

Empty Recycle Bin after you think you are done with the threat.

Install a trusted malware scanner.

Perform a complete system scan to see if leftovers exist.

Do you think about malware, like Leitkcad Ransomware, as soon as you turn on your computer? Hopefully, you do because you can never be too safe when it comes to malware. Unfortunately, many of our daily routines are exploited by cybercriminals, who are constantly trying to execute malicious infections. For example, malware could hide in flash drives, emails, downloaders, and even on social media platforms. The thing is that attackers need to be creative when it comes to malware distribution, and that is why you can never let your guard down. Obviously, if you take certain security steps, you can minimize your chances of facing threats greatly, and that is what we discuss in this report. We also show how to delete Leitkcad Ransomware in case it manages to slither into your Windows operating system. Note that this malware must be removed as soon as you discover it, but your files might be damaged permanently.

How does Leitkcad Ransomware work?

Your personal files are the main target of Leitkcad Ransomware. If it finds a way into your system, it immediately encrypts files and attaches the “.leitkcad” to their original names. What does this extension mean? In fact, it means nothing, and it is just a marker used to show you which files were encrypted. You can also try opening your files, and if they cannot be read anymore, that signals that they were encrypted. But why did Leitkcad Ransomware encrypt your files at all? Our Anti-Spyware-101.com research team has encountered some threats that were used for testing purposes only. Some threats were simply used to destroy files and leave their owners reeling. However, in most cases, files are encrypted as a form of hijack. Basically, your personal files are hijacked so that the attackers could make demands for a ransom, which is why the malware is known as ransomware. A file named “help-leitkcad.txt” should be dropped once the infection is done encrypting your files, and while you will need to remove this file at some point, it is perfectly safe to open it too.

The .txt file, of course, displays a text message. According to it, your files were encrypted “due to security issues.” Well, that is not a lie because if your system was secured appropriately, you would not be dealing with Leitkcad Ransomware at this time. The message informs that you need to initiate communication with the attackers via chat, and to access it, you need to follow a link. At the time of research, the link was not included in the message, which suggests that the threat is not fully developed yet. Of course, our team is looking for different samples of this malware so that we could provide you with additional information in the future. So, what would happen if you contacted the attackers behind Leitkcad Ransomware? They would make you pay a ransom in return for a password, a key, a tool, or something alike that, allegedly, would decrypt your files, but, unfortunately, cybercriminals’ promises are usually always empty. Therefore, if you pay the ransom, note that you are unlikely to get anything in return.

How to delete Leitkcad Ransomware

Ransomware is very easy to build and distribute, and it is also very easy to use this kind of malware for extortion. Unfortunately, Leitkcad Ransomware is not weak or poorly built, and it could attack your system too. If that has yet to happen, please implement trusted anti-malware software immediately. Also, create backup copies of all important personal files, and transfer the copies to safe external or virtual drives. This will ensure that you have copies just in case. If your system has already been attacked, we hope that you have copies of your personal files. If you do, focus on the removal of Leitkcad Ransomware because you will be able to replace the encrypted files afterward. The guide below lists a few locations that could potentially host the launcher file of the ransomware. However, the name and the location of this file are random, and we cannot point you to it. On the other hand, a legitimate anti-malware tool should have no trouble deleting the file automatically. Moreover, it could help you secure your system against malware in the future.

Removal Guide

Right-click and Delete the file named help-leitkcad.txt. If you find copies, get rid of them too.

Right-click the {unknown name}.exe file that launched the infection and Deleteit. If you do not know its exact location, check these ones first:

%USERPROFILE%\Desktop

%USERPROFILE%\Downloads

%TEMP%

Empty Recycle Bin once you think you are done.

Employ a trusted malware scanner to help you inspect the system for missed leftovers.

Google Chrome users can download Quick Clear Cache for free from the Chrome Web Store. Its installer exists at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/quick-clear-cache/badahmnhfpinlghdjjlpedolagbfefoe. However, just because something is available to you, that does not mean that it is helpful or reliable. Our Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers have analyzed the extension, and the conclusion is that it is neither useful nor reliable. Therefore, it is classified as a potentially unwanted program. Note that we use the abbreviation ‘PUP’ throughout this report. It is important to note that PUPs are not always incredibly malicious, and not all security tools identify them as threats either. That said, if you continue reading this report, you will understand the reasons why our team suggests deleting Quick Clear Cache. If you do not agree with our fact-based opinions, or you want to discuss certain things further before you decide whether or not to remove the extension, note that you can use the comments section below to contact us.

How does Quick Clear Cache work?

If you did not download Quick Clear Cache from the dedicated Chrome Web Store page, perhaps you installed it from clear-browsing.com? When we analyzed the PUP, this website did not work, and it presented a “Clear Browsing Coming Soon” message instead. We do not know if the website worked at some point in the past, or if its installer is still being developed, but it is clear that Chrome users are already downloading the PUP. Did you use a third-party installer to acquire Quick Clear Cache? If that is the case, is it possible that you acquired other pieces of software along with it? Use a trusted malware scanner right away, and it will let you know if there is anything else that you need to remove from your browser or even your operating system. Hopefully, the PUP is the only thing you need to worry about. So, why do you need to worry about it? Based on our research, this extension tracks browsing history, modifies the default search provider, and redirects users to Bing Search, where modified search results are shown.

Additionally, it is evident that Quick Clear Cache is not a useful extension. If you think that you need it to clear your browser from cache, browsing history, and other things, let us inform you that you do not need to install anything to clear browsing-related data. You already have the “Clear browsing data” tool integrated within your Google Chrome browser, and you can use it to clear that kind of data. So, how do you access this tool? There are three easy options. One, you can click the Chrome menu icon at the top right corner of the browser, select ‘More tools,’ and then click ‘Clear browsing data.’ Two, you can enter ‘chrome://settings/clearBrowserData’ into the address bar. Three, you can tap Ctrl, Shift and Delete keys on the keyboard all at the same time to access the menu. Here, you can clear anything that you want, including cache, download history, or autofill data.

How to delete Quick Clear Cache

So, you do not really need to use Quick Clear Cache to clear browsing data. In fact, it is not even clear how this tool works. We know, however, that it offers more than its main service. It appears that it also can track your browsing activity and change the search provider to redirect to a search engine, where modified results are shown. Given that the tool does not even offer a useful service, you should not put up with anything else. You can remove Quick Clear Cache manually if you want to, and the guide below can be used to clear browsing data too. We definitely recommend doing that to ensure that there is no PUP-related data left behind. As mentioned earlier, if other threats are active, a malware scanner can help you identify them. So, what happens if other threats are discovered? While some users might be able to delete them all manually, we strongly recommend using the help of legitimate anti-malware software.

Removal Guide

Launch Google Chrome.

Click the Chrome menu icon in the top-right corner of the browser.

Expand the More tools menu.

Select Extensions.

Locate the extension you want to get rid of and click Remove.

Repeat steps 2 and 3 and then select Clear browsing data.

Click Advanced (instead of Basic).

Pick a time range and boxes you want and then click Clear data.

Did you seek out IncognitoSearchPro, and you installed it because it seemed to offer exactly what you were looking for? That is unlikely to be the case, given that this extension does not really offer much. It simply states that it can optimize search results represented via Yahoo Search, and you can find this statement at chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/incognitosearchpro/jjenlgjplfbkcblajicehijdofcnamij. We doubt that many users would think to install a tool to make their search results better because that is not really a legitimate service. If you were not pleased with your search tool, it is more likely that you would switch it for something else rather than look for ways to enhance it. In any case, we suggest that you delete IncognitoSearchPro if you have downloaded it onto your Google Chrome browser. Of course, we do not recommend removing it just because we doubt that anyone would be interested in it. There are serious reasons why eliminating this extension is advised.

How does IncognitoSearchPro work?

Did you install IncognitoSearchPro because of portal.incognitosearchpro.com? This is a page that you are most likely to be redirected via unreliable ads, tools, and websites. It seems to offer a search tool, but it might be most important that it offers a free PDF converter, a currency converter, and also a calculator. The attractiveness of such a page seems like the only logical reason to install IncognitoSearchPro. The thing is that the page is not introduced by the extension. They appear to exist separately. What the PUP (potentially unwanted program) introduces is feed.incognitosearchpro.com, and this page is set as the new default search provider on Google Chrome. That is exactly how TopSportsSearch, BestConverterSearch, GoIncognitoSearch, GlobalPDFConverterSearch, and other PUPs work as well. Their names might be different, but these extensions are identical clones. They all follow the same privacy policies too, and it seems that the creator (or creators) is more concerned with aiding unknown third parties than providing you with a legitimate and trustworthy service.

Have you tried browsing your web after installing IncognitoSearchPro? If you use the default search provider for that, you should find yourself being redirected to Yahoo Search. This search tool might be well-known and respected, but you must forget about all that when the PUP is involved. That is because it shows modified search results. Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers warn that the PUP shows the links of third-party partners, but since we do not know anything about them, it is hard to judge whether the modified results can be trusted. Most likely, the PUP aids unreliable parties and advertisers, and interacting with the search results could be dangerous. Due to this, we advise that you remove IncognitoSearchPro without further delay. Of course, you should take a few minutes to perform a full system scan. You want to do that to make sure that there are no other threats that you might have to deal with. Obviously, if more serious threats are discovered, you need to address and delete them first.

How to delete IncognitoSearchPro

We are sure that you want to remove IncognitoSearchPro if you have read the report. It is evident that the extension was not created to assist you. Even worse, it is known that its creator can record personal and non-personal data and then share it with the suspicious third-party partners. Due to this, your virtual security could be at risk. After you delete the extension, it is a good idea to clear browsing data. While we suggest that you clear all PUP-related data, you should at least get rid of cookies that store information about your browsing activities and help transmit personal data too. Follow the instructions below to learn how to do that. Do other threats exist as well? If that is the case, you need to think if you want to erase them all manually. If you do not, why bother with the PUP? Install anti-malware software that will automatically clean your system and, at the same time, will secure it too.
