When you install Sealoid onto your Google Chrome browser, you agree to the Privacy Policy presented by webcoapps, you agree to have your default search provider replaced, and you also agree to the introduction of advertisements whenever you browse the web. How does Sealoid work?
The installer of the suspicious Sealoid can be found on the Chrome Web Store. At the time of research, the installer on chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/sealoid/gclpngnibiahkfeicjpghfphkiihajhl was still up, and there were over 10,000 downloads. It is likely that not all of these people have downloaded the PUP fully understanding how it works or knowing anything about it at all. The installer of the extension could be presented in aggressive ways. For example, an unreliable website could automatically open a page in full-screen pushing you to install the extension. The installer could also be pushed using false promotion. Perhaps you found the installer of Sealoid attached to a different program or extension you wanted to install, and you decided to give the unknown extension a chance? On the left of the page, you can find a column representing different tools. They include a file converter, a currency converter, a cryptocurrency converter, and also a calculator. You get the same thing if you use Spinyon, GalaxySpin, and other webcoapp PUPs. You also can add favorite websites for easy access. This is the only part of the PUP that is relatively useful. If you try to browse the web via Sealoid, you get redirect to Yahoo Search, where modified results are shown to present you with ads and links to the sites of unknown partners. Interacting with these unpredictable links/ads is dangerous business, and so we do not recommend getting involved. How to remove Sealoid
