Where does GoGameGo come from?

There is little to no information about this program’s origins. The company that developed this application is called Ask Partner Network (APN, LLC,) a company known for developing unreliable software. However, this PUP is distributed by a company called The Whiz, Ltd, a largely unknown company whose legitimacy has yet to be verified. Now, our researchers have found that this program is currently being distributed on a website called Gogamego.thewhizproducts.com, and it can be downloaded only if you use Google Chrome. As far as we know, it used to work on Mozilla Firefox, but now it does not support it.

Now let us talk demographics. Tests have shown that this application is very popular in India with 21.4 % of all visits, followed by the United States with 10.1 %, Pakistan with 9 %, Algeria 8.7 %, and Thailand with 3.3 %. The numbers show that GoGameGo is popular in very different regions that include the Asia-Pacific, the Middle East, and the American continent. This success must be attributed to this program’s advertising campaign because information about it does not get passed via viva voce. Our researchers have found that this browser extension is promoted via pop-up ads presented by adware-type applications. The information above shows that this program, although not malicious, is still quite unreliable since it comes from an unreliable developer and is promoted using adware. Now, let us take a look at how this browser extension works.

What does GoGameGo do?

This program is supposed to give you access to various games, but in reality, it just provides you with links that redirect you to its promoted websites. So this program does not grant you any special privileges. Therefore, we regard this program’s official functionality as useless. However, that is not all; GoGameGo will also let you listen to music via Pandora, Spotify, iHeartRadion, Tunein. Again, it does not give you any special privileges, but the links are there to give you the impression that this program and its search engine are actually useful. In reality, however, this program’s true purpose is to generate income from online advertising supplied by its modified Mysearch.com search engine.

Once you install this extension, it will automatically change your browser’s homepage/new tab page to Mysearch.com. While this search engine can be used to search for information online we regard it as useless, because its search results are modified to include promotional links. These links come from Ask Partner Network’s “partners” so we do hold them in high regard. Unfortunately, there is a chance of your computer becoming infected with malware if you accidentally click one of its ads and it turns out to be malicious. Therefore, we are certain that it is in your best interest to remove GoGameGo just to be on the safe side.
