Should you delete DictionaryBoss Toolbar?

The toolbar has been created by the company Mindspark Interactive Network. You may know this name if you have used the Gaming Wonderland Toolbar, MindDabble, Vacation Xplorer, Cursor Mania Toolbar and other plugins. It is notable that all of these programs promote Ask search tools, and if you do not want to use them you have to be very careful when installing these onto your operating Windows system. Overall, the toolbar itself is not malicious and some users may want to continue using it. Using the easy-access links on the toolbar you can translate text, discover the word of the day or simply check spelling mistakes. Needless to say, you should be most cautious about the search box located on the left of the toolbar. If you use this you will be routed to the search.tb.ask.com. Even though the search engine provides links to Gmail, Facebook, Vimeo and other reputable services, you cannot trust it. It provides advertisement-supported search results meaning that some links are useless regarding your search queries.test

  1. I cannot for the life of me figure out what all the fuss is about. I actually Downloaded this Several months ago and have had Virtually NO Problems with it.
Other than an occasional unwanted LOW risk Tracking Cookie on my Machine, I haven't Had ANY of the problems that alot of people are describing.
I think alot of people are just way to much in a hurry and don't look at what is actually being downloaded.
When downloading ANY software from the internet Always, ALWAYS Choose "Custom" Install. NOT the "RECOMMENDED" Install.
This way you can UN-check these extra toolbars and offers you don't want.
And many people think they have to click Agree to everything in order to proceed.
If your careful, and download Most software from the net right, you can avoid this garbage for being stuck on your PC.
I did it right and chose "CUSTOM" Install and unchecked ALL the added toolbars even the ones that are carefully hidden they are a very light grey, designed to go undetected.
If you catch these, like I did and UN-check and decline all extra offers and only agree to the dictionaryboss terms of service.
    I really see now problem.
Someone please correct me if I am wrong, But I personally have had almost NO problems with it. In fact I find it very fast and very accurate.
I Just now and again run 1,2 or three of the different tracking and malware tools I have loaded.
All either Microsoft certified or Norton Anti virus certified or both.
Just click it..? Remove it ..? And forget it..!
All this fuss about this being Malware, IN My opinion is WAY overblown.
I think people are in just too big of a hurry and just agree to everything and download the whole kit and caboodle then blame the software developer for Malware / Spyware.
IN most cases that's not the Case at all, it's all the extras you DON'T or Fail to UN-check or decline that brings the garbage.
By the way although my grammar Sucks this spelling was brought to you by Dictionaryboss toolbar. Although Maybe Not perfect, it Caught almost 30 spelling errors in this message alone. And I Took THE "houokned no phnoik's porgarm"

    • Hello Richard,

Yes, to tell the truth, DictionaryBoss Toolbar is a browser plugin and it is not dangerous. However, Dictionaryboss and other similar software are usually bundled with adwares or PUP's . These adwares could hijack search engines or install other unwanted applications.

It's quite a tricky activity, but many companies earn a lot of money from this...
