Avboost

What is Avboost?

Avboost is a potentially unwanted application you could accidentally install with bundled setup files. At first, the program might look quite handy since it allows to change screen brightness, computer volume, turn off Wi-Fi, or take a screenshot with tools provided on a single pop-up window. On the other hand, most of nowadays keyboards have buttons that allow to turn the volume up and down, take screenshots, and so on. In other words, having this application installed may not make any difference at all. However, there is more as our researchers at Anti-spyware-101.com believe the program might be not only a worthless piece of software but also a possibly dangerous one. It looks like Avboost can install adware on the computer, and such software could show potentially malicious advertising content. Accordingly, users are advised to remove the suspicious tool before anything goes wrong and the deletion instructions located at the end of this text will show how to complete the task.testtest

Where does Avboost come from?

The potentially unwanted application has an official web page (avboost.club), but since the given Download link only redirects back to the homepage, downloading the tool from its website is impossible. Our specialists learned Avboost might be distributed with bundled setup files instead. Therefore, some users could install it unknowingly. For instance, the installation wizard may not notify about additional software that will be added or the user might not see such information if he chooses automatic installation instead of custom or the advanced one. Given you do not want to end up in a situation where you accidentally install unreliable programs without realizing it, you should be more careful during installation.

How does Avboost work?

As soon as Avboost gets installed it my launch itself automatically and the program may continue to do so every time you turn on or restart the computer. Its window is a small black pop-up called Settings Manager. It has a couple of sliders to manage system volume or screen brightness and a couple of buttons for taking a screenshot, turning off Wi-Fi, or enabling Timer. Our specialists who tested the potentially unwanted application confirmed that all of these features work. Unfortunately, as we explained in the beginning, they discovered the tool could install adware. To be more precise it might add executable files with abilities to inject advertising content while the user is surfing the Internet, although the ads could be opened with the default browser automatically if you are not browsing at the time the advertisements are scheduled to appear.

The Avboost creators disclaim any warranty or responsibility arising from their product's usage or your interaction with the third-party content in the Privacy Policy and End User License Agreement documents. Thus, it is entirely possible the ads could come from anywhere, including malicious web pages. Accordingly, there is a risk the advertisements could lead you to sites spreading malware or unreliable programs similar to the potentially unwanted application, e.g. browser hijackers, different adware, and so on. Moreover, the annoying ads could redirect you to sites that might try to steal your sensitive data or trick you into submitting it. Needless to say, it would be wiser to keep away from such ads or better yet remove the software responsible for this content.

How to eliminate Avboost?

The potentially unwanted application has a working Uninstall file, but we would not advise you to use it. It looks like deleting Avboost via Control Panel still leaves the adware data that came with it. For this reason, we believe it is best to eliminate the unreliable software manually by erasing files or folders belonging to it one by one. The whole process is explained in detail a little bit below this text. As for users who would rather erase the unwanted application automatically, we advise employing a legitimate antimalware tool. By doing so, you could not only quickly remove the unreliable program or adware that may come along with it, but also acquire a tool, which might help you guard the system from future threats.
