What is AnonymizerGadget?

Our malware analysts have recently tested AnonymizerGadget and found that it is good for nothing. Hence, they have classified it as a potentially unwanted program, so you should consider removing it. Therefore, AnonymizerGadget is a useless application that you should get rid of as soon as the opportunity arises. However, if you want to find out more about it before you uninstall it, we invite you to read this full description.testtesttest

What does AnonymizerGadget do?

Officially, AnonymizerGadget is a VPN service provider that enables you to use proxies to access region-restricted websites and their content. Its Graphical User Interface is minimalistic and looks like a legitimate but dated program. It offers free and paid proxies, but our researchers found that the free proxies do not work and the same can be true of the paid ones as well. As a result, this application is next to useless, and it is clear that it serves an entirely different purpose.

Our cyber security experts say that this program’s website at Nottotrack.com not only features AnonymizerGadge, but also promotes Hideman which is an entirely legitimate application. If you go to its subpage at Nottotrack.com/pay.php, and click any of the featured country flags and click Download, then it will initiate the download of Hideman. Therefore, there is no doubt that AnonymizerGadget is just a front for promoting Hideman. However, Hideman’s developers might not even know that their program is being promoted such a deceptive way. However, the developers of this potentially unwanted program seek to profit from promoting it. It is also worth mentioning that Nottotrack.com promotes AnonymizerGadge under the name of NotToTrack. Also, after installing it, it might not launch its Graphical User Interface, so you have to end its process via Control Panel and launch it again. All in all, this application offers nothing of value, so you should consider deleting it.

Where does AnonymizerGadget come from?

Our cyber security experts have found that this shady application was signed by Investservis JSC and its publisher name is Jetico Ltd. Apparently, this publisher is based in Moscow, Russia. However, all we know is that it is a software publisher and it has not published any software before or since the release of AnonymizerGadget.

As far as its distribution methods go, AnonymizerGadget is featured on its dedicated website at Nottotrack.com under the name of NotToTrack. However, our malware analysts have found that it is also distributed via questionable freeware distributing websites that bundle freeware with not so legitimate applications as a means of generating revenue. Researchers say that you can install this potentially unwanted program accidentally because the bundled installers may not show what additional software they contain. Therefore, when installing freeware, always select advanced or custom installation to uncheck the checkboxes of questionable or undesirable software.

How to remove AnonymizerGadget
