What is hdshop?
Hdshop is an adware application that is responsible for displaying commercial advertisements on your browser. You may install this application on your computer without even realizing it. Such applications as hdshop are usually distributed bundled with freeware via third party downloaders and installers. They may not be direct computer security threats, but you are strongly recommended to remove hdshop from the computer, as a prolonged exposure to third party content may cause serious security issues. For more on hdshop removal, simply scroll down to the bottom of this article, and you will find manual removal instructions there.
Where does hdshop come from?
It has been mentioned in the first paragraph that hdshop belongs to a group of applications that are distributed bundled with other programs. It does not have an official home page and it is also known as HD-Plus adware. This application uses Crossrider engine just like a number of other adware programs, such as TornTV, HD Total or any other app from the Lyrics family (Lyrics Monkey, Boby Lyrics and so on).
Also, this application may have many different versions, each of which is indicated by a personal numeral, for example HdShop 1.1, HdShop 2.5, HdShop 6.0 etc. It is very likely that hdshop is installed on your computer silently, so even if you do initiate the installation yourself, you may not be aware of the fact that you install various additional programs.
What does hdshop do?
Since this application is classified as adware, it is not hard to figure what it does. Hdshop collects data on your web browsing habits and then generate relevant coupon offers whenever you access eBay, BestBuy, Walmart and other similar online shops. These coupon pop-ups should help you purchase the things you are looking for at a lower price, but we cannot be sure that the offers presented by hdshop are reliable.
The point is that usually such applications are not responsible for the security and reliability of a third party content. Thus, when you click on hdshop pop-up and you get redirected to a third party website, hdshop is no longer liable for whatever happens to you or your computer. Since we cannot guarantee that the content hdshop displays is secure, it is for the best to remove the application from your PC.
How to remove hdshop?
It is very easy to uninstall hdshop via Control Panel. When you open a list of installed programs, check whether there are any other applications that have been installed on the same day as hdshop. If so, it is very likely that these applications have been installed together (like, EZ YouTube Video Downloader for example), and you need to remove them as well. If you do not know whether your computer is safe, or you are confused about which programs are supposed to be deleted, scan the PC with SpyHunter free scanner and the list of potentially unwanted applications will be given to you immediately.
