What is dtupdate.exe?

What does dtupdate.exe do?

The file is known as DefaultTab Update Service, and it is responsible for connecting to a particular server and searching for the updates for the browser add-on. If any is detected, it is downloaded and installed. Dtupdate.exe starts running once your Windows operating system starts, and you should keep in mind that the suspicious file may download some additional adware applications or be related to various unwanted pop-up contents.

If you find that dtupdate.exe is running on the PC, when there must be some other unwanted files installed and changes made on the browsers. 2. Click Troubleshooting Information.
3. Click Reset Firefox - > Reset Firefox - > Finish.

Google Chrome

1. Press Alt+F.
2. Point to Tools and select Extensions.
3. Remove the unwanted add-on.
4. Click Settings on the right of the browser.
5. Under On startup, select the third option and click Set pages. Change the startup page.
6. Under Search, click Manage search engine and change the search provider.
7. If necessary, change the settings of the home button under Appearance.
