What is WinRepair Pro?
WinRepair Pro is the “professional” version of the Windows WinRepair tool that is officially promoted at winrepairpro.com. Anti-Spyware-101.com researchers have found that this program provides some authentic services; however, its functionality is questionable. Just like Optimizer Pro, ProPCClean, and other system optimization tools alike, this one does not work as well as it promises, and the price for these questionable services is pretty steep. At the time of research, this system optimizer was retailed at around 120 USD. Needless to say, this sum could be used to install quite a few different programs that would serve you more reliably and beneficially. Of course, if you are not counting money, it is unlikely that you will be appalled at this price. All in all, this program is not that great, and you should keep that in mind when investing your money in it. Instead of doing that, you might want to delete WinRepair Pro.
How does WinRepair Pro work?
Imali Media is the publisher of WinRepair Pro, as well as several infamous browser hijackers, including search.realcoolmovie.com. According to our research, this browser hijacker could be installed along with the suspicious optimizer, and this is one of the many reasons why we call it a potentially unwanted program (PUP). Although some users download this program from the official website mentioned above, most users are likely to acquire it using third-party sources. It was found that the installer of this PUP is carried by malicious installers, which, unfortunately, means that all kinds of third-party programs could be installed along with it. On top of that, this PUP was also found to be promoted via pop-ups introduced by already active adware or shown on different websites, such as descargar.es and filewin.com. Needless to say, the distribution of this PUP is quite questionable, and this is a red flag. Even if the PUP itself is not that dangerous, the programs bundled with it could be, which is why you need to be cautious about third-party installers at all times. In fact, you should not engage with unfamiliar installers at all!
Once installed, WinRepair Pro runs a scheduled task to check for updates, and it does that without your notice. The updates installed by this program could change the interface, the sum required, and the helpline number provided. (844) 944-0914 is the number that the users of this PUP are provided with if they need the so-called “Live Help.” It is likely that users would be most concerned about the errors detected by this program. This optimizer can find many different errors, and this is what is likely to push you into purchasing the licensed version. Just to ensure users that it works, WinRepair Pro offers to fix several different errors for free, which makes it look more reliable. As mentioned previously, this PUP is not entirely useless, and it might fix some errors; however, we do not recommend relying on it fully. The chances are that this supposedly beneficial program will not pay off. If you are happy with the services this program provides, do not forget to clean your operating system from any unwanted programs.
How to delete WinRepair Pro
Not all computer users are experienced with manual removal, and that is not shocking, considering that so many reliable anti-malware tools exist. If you cannot dedicate a lot of time or if you are not sure you can succeed on your own, you should think about using anti-malware software to have the existing malware eliminated automatically. SpyHunter is a reliable tool that has been updated to remove WinRepair Pro as well. Although it is just a potentially unwanted program, we advise eliminating it due to the reasons expressed in this report. Another option would be manual removal, and it is not extremely complicated unless you run Windows 10, in which case, you will need to perform a few additional steps. Needless to say, the removal of third-party programs installed on your PC might be even more lengthy and complicated. If you are not ready to handle this operation yourself, rely on anti-malware software.
