What is USB Locker?
USB Locker is a strange application that our research team at Anti-Spyware-101.com recognizes as a potentially unwanted program, o PUP. According to our research, an official website that would represent this program does not exist, which is a bad sign. Legitimate and authentic programs usually rely on their official websites for representation. Because the PUP is not represented, we cannot review the privacy policies and other legal information associated with it. Even illegal, malicious programs might have misleading sites representing them, and so the inexistence of a representative site is truly worrying. How does USB Locker work?
At first sight, USB Locker does not look dangerous or malicious. The interface if this program is likely to pop up on your screen when you inject flash drives, and it should help you manage them. For example, the “Access Mode” menu is meant to help you select whether you want to read and write, read only, or disable drives. Windows 7 or Windows Vista:
- Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows logo on the left of the Taskbar.
- Open the Control Panel menu and then move to Uninstall a program.
- Right-click the application you want to get rid of and choose Uninstall.
Windows XP:
- Move to the Taskbar and click the Start button on the left to open a menu.
- Select Control Panel for more options and then double-click Add or Remove Programs.
