TrumpKard tries to sell itself as a useful Google Chrome browser extension that can block unwanted advertisements and web content, but, unfortunately, our malware researchers at anti-spyware-101.com say that this application has shown questionable traits. In fact, this extension has been categorized as a PUP, a potentially unwanted program for a reason; or more precisely, for a couple of reasons. Although this PUP claims to block ads and other unwanted content, it may well start showing you its own third-party ads. It is possible that this function is not yet working, but it is clearly a future plan to make it work. This way, you may be exposed to unreliable third-party content. Where does TrumpKard come from?

One of the most suspicious things about this PUP is its main distribution method since it seems that it is most commonly spread via free software bundles. How does TrumpKard work?

This browser extension is supposed to enable you to block certain content and advertisements. The main promotional website states that you can “silence the crazy,” “silence the celebrities,” and “silence the noise.” Nevertheless, you can read in the Privacy Policy as well as the Terms of Service that the creators are planning to use this tool to display customized third-party advertisements. So this PUP allows you to filter content in your Chrome browser but at the same time it may also start showing potentially unreliable third-party ads. Well, this should really raise the red flag for any security-minded computer user. Imagine that your ad-blocker app puts your system at risk by offering you potentially risky ads. If you click on corrupt ads, you may be taken to malicious websites. This usually does not end well.
