What is Bingo Master?
Our researchers have recently analyzed yet another browser extension and have come to the conclusion that Bingo Master is an adware program that you ought to remove due to its malicious capabilities. This program's sole purpose is to flood your browser with commercial third-party advertisements that come from largely unknown advertisers. Please do not be confused, this program is not set to help you, but help its creators make more money from advertising. Moreover, we want to make you aware that some of this program’s advertisements may be unreliable as in some cases it may promote malicious software, such as adware. So do not hesitate, delete Bingo Master as soon as the opportunity arises.
Where does Bingo Master come from?
Unfortunately, there is no information regarding this program’s developer, so we do not know if it has any clones or not. Bingo Master has a promotional website, or what is left of it. Its website at Getbingomaster.com can be accessed but all you will be able to see is a white screen and this program’s name at the top left corner. This website may be down temporarily, but one thing is for sure – currently, it cannot be downloaded from there. However, as we expected, Bingo Master has more than one distribution method. Our researchers say that this browser extension can be found bundled with malicious software that is put up for download on free software hosting websites. Those bundles are said to explicitly state that Bingo Master will also be installed.
How does Bingo Master work?
This program’s Privacy Policy that you can still access at Getbingomaster.com/terms.pdf says that Bingo Master may display third party advertisements. Our researchers have discovered that this program is set to display various unreliable advertisements. And, while testing it, they discovered that this adware is used to promote a potentially unwanted program called Reimage, which is not malicious but undesirable to say the least. However, that is just the tip of the iceberg as we think that it may promote malicious software in the near future.
The research has shown that this adware program is only compatible with Mozilla Firefox. Upon installation, this program’s installer places files in a folder located in %LOCALAPPDATA%. It is also very important to note that Bingo Master can have a number of aliases that include Extension Food, Call Web, and Web Balance. The aforementioned location contains DLL files that will have the same names as the browser extension.
How to remove Bingo Master
Uninstalling this adware via Control Panel should delete these junk files, but if not then you can do it manually or let an antimalware scanner do it for you. It is easy to see that this browser extension has nothing useful to offer. Unreliable third-party ads may get your computer infected with malicious software that may be hard to root out manually, so why risk you computer’s security?
