This adware will also force launch Internet Explorer and redirect to websites, such as savings-galleria.com/?agent_ID=202081&campaign_ID=6389, http://omgsweeps.com/hosting/staticpages/OMG_FormA.aspx?c=OMG&redir=0&referid=EvoLeads+Inc._2540&email={email}&transaction_id=102089ec16913cdc0715312cb4c2f2, and so on. Note that the websites mentioned above are not the only ones you can encounter, because the ads are subject to the country/region you are in. Therefore, you might have an entirely different experience.

Browser hijackers are set to replace your browser’s homepage and subject you to search results that contain promotional links to potentially unreliable content, while potentially unwanted programs do not do anything at all, yet they usually want you to purchase them to access non-existent functions. So these are the things you will encounter while having this infection on your PC.

Where does BuiltMoneyMaker come from?

While researching this adware, our malware analysts found that this program is almost identical to MultiSurveys, BabyMegs, and Diet Bright. Thus, it is evident that all of these programs come from the same developers, but they have disassociated themselves from their software because it is malicious. Therefore, this application has not been digitally signed by any software company, and this program’s legal documents (EULA, Privacy Policy) found on Builtmoneymaker.com make no mention of the developers or owners.

Regardless, let us talk about how this adware is distributed. Our malware analysts found that this adware might come bundled with other software and put up for download on shady software distributing websites. However, this distribution method is not as efficient as the main site — Builtmoneymaker.com. This site hosts the download of the aforementioned InstallCore installer that installs BuiltMoneyMaker along with its unwelcome additional programs. Infections with this adware are on the rise because its distribution website is being promoted via the previously mentioned browser hijackers with the possible addition of other browser hijackers we have yet to locate. How to remove BuiltMoneyMaker
